Mac OS - Canon C2220 printer install instructions

Please download the following file:
Patched package version for Big Sur: Download
Driver for Canon (up to Catalina): Download
Install instructions
Needed: Printer ID and Administrator access to your computer

Execute the downloaded driver file

It will expand and show the Installer file. Execute it.

Click Continue.

Click Continue.

Click Agree. Afterwards there should be a system window requesting your computer user and password.

Click Install.

The driver is installing. Just wait for it to complete.

Click "Close" to finish installing the driver.
Create the printer in the system

Go to System Preferences

Go to Printers & Scanners

Click the (+) button

Click on IP

Fill in Address, Choose Protocol, (optional) give it a meaningful Name and location.
The "Use:" will be described in the next instruction

Under Use: choose Select Software

In the search box insert "c2220". This will filter the driver we installed earlier.
Click on Canon iR-ADV C2220/2230 and click Ok

This should be the final result. We can now click Add.
Configure the Printer ID

Click on Options & Supplies

Click Utility and Open Printer Utility

Click on User Information
Click on Enter Name
Input your Printer User ID.
Input your Pin/Password.

Now we need to print something so we can set the final adjustments.
It is important to use the system print dialog. For example open TextEdit application.

Write something to print

Print it.

Click Show Details

Where the name of the program appears, in this example it was TextEdit, click on it.
Choose Special Features.

Under Job Processing, choose Secured Print

Under Presets, Click on Save Current Settings as Preset

Give it a meaningful name like MITI Canon.
Click Ok

Click Print.

In Document Name you can put whatever text. It is just a way to reference it in the printer.
Click Ok.
Now you just need to go to the printer, log in using your Print ID credentials.
Press Secure Printing.
Select your Print Jobs.
Click Secure Print.Your prints should start coming out.
Click Logout.
